EFFECT OF GAS PRESSURE ON THE OPERATION OF A HIGH-POWER WAVEGUIDE MICROWAVE SWITCH.

Abstract

This paper presents the results of an investigation of the operation of a waveguide switch in a generator of high-power nanosecond microwave pulses at different gas (nitrogen) pressures. An oscillator having a frequency of 2. 85 GHz, a power of 1. 5 mw and a pulse duration of 3 multiplied by 10** minus **6 sec was used as the source of microsecond microwave pulses. The results obtained enables one to choose the optimum operating regime of the nanosecond microwave pulse oscillator.
