Abstract
The role of phase fluctuations in layered superconductors was assessed applying the fluctuation-dissipation theorem (FDT) to linear response equations. It was shown that at low temperatures, quantum fluctuations dominate over thermal fluctuations. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that a suppression of the critical current due to thermal fluctuations is larger in the stack direction than in the in-plane direction.
