Determining the wear of tools with multi-edge tips.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The paper discusses the assessment of the variation in tool cutting properties as a result of wear, in relation to tools with mechanically-clamped multi-face tips, where the cutting edges become lowered as a result of wear. It was found necessary to take into account the lowering of the cutting edge to obtain an accurate figure for the mass of the worn part of the tool. (C.P.)
