Determining the effective resistance of a current plasma interrupter

Abstract

Experiments are described with a short-circuited load and wire aluminum liner at different initial resistances. The experiments were carried out at the Marx generator facility with an intermediate induction storage and plasma interrupter. On the base of obtained statistical data are calculated the time dependences of the effective resistance for the current plasma interrupter. It is shown that this effective resistance becomes established after 70-100 ns and during following 40-70 ns is practically constant.
