An approach to description of linear stationary systems by two matrices is proposed - a matrix of parameters in which blocks consist of state, input, and output matrices of the system, and a matrix of dimensions of its state, control, perturbation, and output spaces. Rules are given how to transform these matrices for standard circuit types including sequential, parallel, and feedback connections of both static and dynamic elements. These rules can be used to formalize simulation procedures for complex dynamic systems and to determine their basic properties including stability, controllability and observability. If information is given on element connections in the system, then construction of its state, input, and output matrices can be completely automated.
