Detection of the coherent X-ray radiation of 5.7 MeV electrons in (002) pyrolytic graphite

In the paper are presented the results of measuring the orientational dependence of the spectra of coherent X-ray radiation, generated in the 〈002〉 crystal of pyrolytic graphite under the angle of 28° to the electron beam direction at the electron energy of 5.7 MeV. Spectra are given of the observed radiation at the angles between electron beam and the 〈002〉 crystal planes, equal Θ=10.17; 12.58; 14.5; 15.0; 17.4 and 19.8°. The most powerful peaks in the radiation spectra are observed on the crystal orientation near the position, corresponding to Θ=14°. The conclusion is made that the obtained results show a possibility of developing a retuned monochromatic X-ray source on the base of electron accelerators with MeV's energies.
