Abstract

A suitable method for destruction of carcinogenic amino and nitro compounds (4-amino-biphenyl, 4-nitrobiphenyl, and 4,4′-methylene-bis(o-chloroaniline)) in laboratory wastes has been developed. The method is based on the oxidation of these substances with potassium permanganate in sulfuric acid medium resulting in a thorough destruction of the test substances.
