Abstract
The current state of methods of production of radionuclide 124I for nuclear medicine is analyzed. The review is focused on finding methods for enhancement of cyclotron production of the 124I radionuclide. The influence of the chosen nuclear reactions, the irradiation conditions, the target material, and the methods of manufacturing and cooling of the irradiated targets on the radionuclide yield is considered.
