Abstract
An approach to the construction of intelligent systems is proposed. The approach is based on the physicochemical and process relationships for thermocatalytic transformations of complex hydrocarbon mixtures, which combine expert knowledge on the process under investigation with its mathematical description and allow one to make qualitative and quantitative estimations in numerical and semantic form. The intelligent system developed has been implemented in industrial oil refineries and at the Tomsk Polytechnical University.
