Construction materials based on melts of the diopside-phlogopite system

Abstract

In this study the authors have determined that the crystallization properties of melts of the mixtures studied depend on the ratio of the calcium and magnesium oxides in their composition. Diopside rocks, as well as mixtures of them with phlogoptie in the initial from or with soda added, can be used to obtain vitreous materials. Mixtures containing more the 30 phlogopite are suitable for obtaining dense wear resistant stone castings.
