Abstract
The confirmation of (Mg Nb) defects in heavily MgO-doped LiNbO 3 single crystals was investigated through optical absorption, Raman spectroscopy technique along with Ar + irradiation on heavily MgO-doped LiNbO 3 samples. The new threshold effect, i.e., the formation of (Mg Nb), is observed at 10 mol% of MgO in LiNbO 3 host.
