It is shown that the design of an optimum thermal inspection system of a result, joints requires preliminary calculations, a comparative assessment of all possible working conditions, and the consideration of all special features of the part to be inspected. As a it is possible to specify the conditions which the temperature and angular resolution of the equipment and also the heating power and rate must satisfy. The results of the theoretical investigation were confirmed by the experiment.
