Abstract
N-iodosuccinimide (NIS) and 2,4,6,8-tetraiodo-2,4,6,8-tetraazabicyclo[3.3.0]octan-3,7-dion (TIG) in the organic solvents, such as the acetic acid, ethanol, dioxane and additives of catalytic amounts of sulfuric acid, easily iodinate electron-rich arenes at 0-20°C (15-180 min) with high yelds of products of reaction. At iodination of aromatic -mines, phenol and its ethers the best results are achieved by using ethanol. For introduction of iodine in to alkylbenzenes and some polycyclic hydrocarbones with the use of TIG, dioxane is most convenient, for NIS in these cases the acetic acid is more effective.
