Abstract
Methodical approaches to quantitative techniques in the use of 99mTc-MIBI SPECT for predicting the outcome of disease in patients after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) are developed. The 99mTc-MIBI SPECT method was applied in 155 patients with ischemic hearth disease (IHD) following to AMI. Concurrently, echocardiography and the bicycle test were used. The extension of perfusion defects a level of uptake of the indicator in those areas and the aggregated perfusion defect index were determined in all patients. The best predictors of the unfavorable course of disease in patients with the history of AMI were extensive perfusion defects at rest and at the peak of the adenosine test. The parameters provided by echocardiography, the bicycle exercise and other studies did not enhance the prognostic value of information provided by 99mTc-MIBI SPECT.
