Abstract
The results of experimental studies of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS method) of bluegreen nickel-containing spinels are presented. The composition of the compounds is confirmed by IR spectroscopy, x-ray phase analysis, metallographic analysis, and x-ray spectral microanalysis. The effect of the batch composition on the structure and phase compositions of the compounds obtained is shown. The SHS method makes it possible to obtain spinels that could find applications as high-temperature ceramic pigments.
