Combustion of mixtures of industrial aluminum powders with superfine powders of aluminum and aluminum oxide in air

Abstract

Specific features are studied of combustion of mixtures of the industrial aluminum powders ASD-1 and ASD-4 with superfine powders of Al and γ-Al2O3 in air. It is shown that in coarse-dispersed industrial powders combustion, the fixing of air nitrogen takes place with formation of AlN and AlON. The processes of sintering and non-complete combustion are very essential in the combustion of these mixtures.
