Cognitive and metacognitive prerequisites of intellectual competency in scientific and technological activity

Abstract

The ratio of cognitive abilities (on Amtchauer scale) and cognitive styles (metacognitive features of activity) of students is investigated. The students in experimental sample have real intellectual achievements (intellectual competence) comparing the control sample. The data are operated on not only traditional methods (correlation and analysis of variance) but on method of searching logical rules on the basis of fuzzy logic (WizWhy system). The intellectual competence supposed the organization of involuntary intellectual control as reflexive, mobile field-independent and flexible style of information processing (in males). The threshold of cognitive abilities is discovered (116 units of IQ). Lower the threshold real achievements are absent, upper the threshold the prediction is not possible.
