Characterization of the porous micro-arc coatings containing boehmite nanoparticles

Abstract

The influence of the boehmite nanoparticles on the properties of the calcium phosphate biocoatings obtained by the micro-arc oxidation (MAO) was investigated. Boehmite nanoparticles were precipitated on the porous CaP coatings using hydrolysis reaction carried out in suspension with distilled water and AlN powder. It was shown that boehmite nanoparticles were detected on the surface of CaP coatings and inside the pores of coating surface. It was established that coatings modified with boehmite nanoparticles have high corrosion resistance properties.
