Abstract
The characteristics of a wide-gap spark chamber with polyethylene absorbers are presented. The dependences of the efficiency with which the particles are recorded by the chamber on the amplitude and on the time delay of the high-voltage pulse are measured. The accuracy with which the sparks are traced along the particle track and the dimensions of the sparks are determined when the chamber is filled with Ne.
