Abstract

Hydrogen lamps with lithium, magnesium and calcium fluoride windows were examined during their operation in a VMR-2 vacuum monochromator. The electrostatic nature of the interaction between the surface of the lamp window and organic radicals, generated by the vacuum ultraviolet radiation within the instrument, was established.
