Abstract
The phase composition of the lead-tin oxide system was determined by X-ray diffraction and thermography techniques, and the catalytic properties of this system in oxidative dimerization of methane were studied. The PbSnO3 and Pb2SnO4 compounds were shown to be formed in the system. Catalysts containing 20% of SnO2 exhibited the highest selectivity with respect to C2 hydrocarbons. The catalytic properties of the samples were shown to be related to their physicochemical characteristics.
