Abstract
1. Deactivation of a high-silica zeolite catalyst during the conversion of methanol to hydrocarbons was investigated. The presence of three zones of the reaction was established. 2. The main source of blocking of the acid sites of the catalyst is its carbonization in the high-temperature zone. 3. The change in the composition of the reaction products is associated with a constant decrease in the volume of the working catalyst, a change in its acid properties as a result of temperature-vapor treatment by the water liberated in the process of conversion, and carbonization in the low-temperature zone.
