Carbon dioxide in surface water of the Indian Ocean and Atlantic zones of the Southern Ocean

A brief review of the dynamics of carbon dioxide in the surface layer of the Southern Ocean is presented. Analysis of the data suggest that the sea area near to and south of the Antarctic Divergence (AD) to the ice pack mainly emits carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
