Calcium-magnesium silicate based ceramic pigments

Abstract

The possibilities of the ceramic pigments preparation on the base of natural silicates are investigated. It is shown that using tremolite and diopside rocks the ceramic pigments with diopside structure can be obtained. The wollastonite mineral allows to prepare the pigments with wollastonite structure that can be transformed in diopside and anorthite structures by means of the additives. The color characteristics of the pigments were determined using a spectrophotometer, the phase composition was established on the base of X ray diffraction data.
