Bosonic sector of D = 11 superstring action and the critical dimension

Abstract

The bosonic sector of the D = 11 superstring action [A.A. Deriglazov, D11 Superstring with New Supersymmetry and D10 Type IIA GS Superstring, hep-th/9709025; A.A. Deriglazov, D.M. Gitman, Intern. J. Mod. Phys. A 14 (1999) 2769] is investigated. An appropriate set of variables is found, in which the light-cone quantization turns out to be possible. It is shown that anomaly terms in the algebra of the light-cone Poincare generators are absent for the case D = 27. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
