Abstract
The present note describes a new effect of autodeflection of fast electrons by the space charge field induced during irradiation of a dielectric plate at grazing incidence angles. The accelerator used is a modified microtron with variable beam energy. The angular distributions of the deflected electrons have stripped structure indicating an irregularity of the beam deflection process and a variation in the space charge accumulation. The wedge-like form of the angular distribution of electrons, which corresponds to fixed positions of the deflected beam, is caused with a non-uniform structure of the electric field of the space charge accumulated in the glass plate.
