Analytical representation for water vapor self-broadening coefficients

    Abstract

    Analytical models are proposed for the water vapor self-broadening coefficients γ, which depend on the fitting parameters and the temperature. The model parameters are determined for the rotational transitions of the ground vibrational state and the band v2. The calculated values of γ are compared systematically with the experimental findings and with the results of calculation by semiclassical methods. The models proposed reconstruct quite satisfactorily the experimental values of γ known for different temperatures and can be used to tabulate γ for the bands under study in a wide range of temperatures and rotational quantum numbers.
