Abstract
Investigations were carried out into the kinetics of nucleation and growth of fatigue cracks by analysis of fields of displacements in poly crystalline specimens of D16AM duralumin in low-cycle fatigue conditions. The results show that fatigue failure on the mesolevel consists of a number of stages and is associated with the translational-rotational movement of volume mesodefects and fragmentation of the material. The criteria of failure of diagnostics are determined by the parameters of mesoscopic substructures formed on the surface of polycrystals during their cyclic loading.
