Abstract
The surface condition of titanium and stainless steel during electrolytical charge in LiOH + H2O solution were studied by optical and scanning electron microscopy. It is shown that hydrogen charge process is accompanied by formation of damaged structure including cracks on the surface and in the body of the material. Damage formation initiates an intense acoustic emission (AE) occurring, yield rate of which increases nonlinearly with current density increase. AE occurring mechanism during electrolysis are considered.
