    The authors describe a study of absorption of oxygen by zirconium-aluminum alloys in relation to the phase composition and method of preparation of the latter. It is shown that the temperature range and rate of oxygen absorption by zirconium-aluminum alloys containing about 16% of aluminum depend on the composition of the intermetallic compounds and on the method of preparation. Zirconium-aluminum alloys made by the SHS method are more active than the commercial Zial alloy with respect to oxygen in the temperature range 100-400 degree .
