Abstract
A power supply for pulsed low-energy electron beam sources using explosive-emission pool cathodes is described. The device is based on an inductive switching converter that acts as a controlled current source. The converter features a 500 W output power, 1 kV maximum voltage across the primary storage, 1 kHz discharge repetition rate, and 1 μF storage capacitance.
