A method of protection against electrical shock in high-voltage devices for testing cable insulation

Abstract

A method of protecting the maintenance personnel who are dealing with high-voltage devices for testing cable insulation against electrical shock is described. The method is based on analyzing the current through the primary winding when a person is exposed to the voltage. Experimental data and results of mathematical calculations are presented. A circuit arrangement of the protection is proposed based on the method described.
