A mechanism of hyperthermal destruction of epoxy glass in gas flows at high pressure

Abstract

The results are given of experimental investigations of basic regularities of hyperthermal destruction of typical structural epoxy glass on interaction with gas flows under high pressures (up to 15 MPa). A physical model of the process under study is formulated. The modes of thermochemical and thermomechanical destruction, melting, flow of film, and shear deformations (erosion) of a thin surface layer of epoxy glass heated to high temperatures are identified.
